Who we are

Hardy Custom Designs started as a necessity and quickly grew into a passion. While finishing his engineering degree, Tim was required to create a model that could be 3D printed. With two young boys at home, both of us working full-time, and limited time to spend in a college lab, we decided to purchase our first 3D printer—an original Ender 3 S1.

The plan was simple: use the printer for the semester, then sell it when the class was over. That plan didn’t last long.

After fixing a Swiffer, a few kids’ toys, and plenty of things that probably didn’t need fixing, we bought our second printer… then our third. At that point, Lindsey jokingly said the hobby was getting expensive and needed to start paying for itself. She wasn’t wrong.

In 2023, they opened our Etsy shop, and in 2024 they began setting up booths at local fairs and festivals. What started as a single printer has grown into a small family-run business with eight 3D printers and a laser engraver—allowing us to create a wide range of custom, made-to-order pieces.

Outside of building our business, they are an active family. They love the outdoors and spending time traveling their camper whenever we get the chance. That same love for hands-on experiences and creating meaningful memories carries into everything we make.

A family of four standing outdoors in a grassy area with trees in the background. The father has gray hair and a beard, wearing glasses and a navy blue shirt. The mother has red hair, wearing a denim jacket. The son, standing in front of his father, is smiling, wearing a gray shirt with a red bowtie and khaki pants. The younger child, being held by the mother, is holding a carrot and wearing a blue checkered shirt, beige pants, and colorful shoes. There are Easter egg baskets on the ground nearby.
